English seems to be the most difficult subject among students. No wonder because we are not native speakers of this language. Most students in any educational level are quite nervous to stand in front of the class in order to explain or report about a certain topic.
My classmates and I were not an exemption to this especially when we had a professor in our masters degree, who came from PUP Manila. I can still recall how our class was silenced as she entered the room on our first meeting. She used the English language all throughout our discussion. We were also asked to report our assigned topics using the English language.
Being able to discuss and report certain topics using the English language is just one of the many reasons why we must love to learn our second language. With the continuous development in education through K to 12 curriculum program, the Department of education has been doing a lot of efforts to develop globally competitive individuals.
Love to learn the English language because it is very important in our daily lives. As students, we must try our best to develop our reading, writing and speaking skills. Knowing how to read, write and speak in English will help us not only in accomplishing our daily tasks in our class. It will also be very useful when we work on our project proposals, feasibility studies, theses and action researches in all levels of education that we are about to take.
Not only that, fluency in speaking in English will be our edge as we apply for a certain job related to our field of specialization especially now that our country is working hard to meet the global standards when it comes to education and employment. Knowing how to communicate in English will help us a lot to find the best jobs available anywhere in the world.
So from now on, let us erase our fears and hesitations when it comes to learning the lessons in English. We might think that it is really hard yet we must begin to love learning English subjects. We must double our efforts in knowing how to read, write and speak in English because this is one of the keys in order for us to have a successful career in the future.
